How to unwarp/reshape Poly Urethane Lip?
I bought an N1 Polyurethane Lip from eBay and it was warped and bent in some areas despite the auction saying it wouldn't be...I've tried letting the sun shine on the lip, that didn't work, tried heating it up with a hair dryer and bending it with my hands but that hasn't been working either. Anyone got any ideas? Should I buy a heat gun?
Hit up the vendor BausAuto. They might have a few tricks up their sleeve to help you out. Although, based in So Cal where the weather is perfection...meh. I'm sure they have some technique to tell buyers when they ship in the winter.
I bought an N1 lip also and when I got it, it was like yours, warped. Not badly, just enough that it didnt sit right on my bumper. Tried to let sun shine on it and it got a teeny tiny bit softer. I said screw it and put it on.
Drilled some holes, even used pilot guides. I even used double sided tape.
by the 4th day it met its match on the freeway and its 75 mph winds. long story short I ran over it....then a random BMW behind me ran over it...then a few more cars....
so yes make sure its back to its intended shape and use 3M automotive tape. I used some I got from Lowes which I thought was good enough. it wasnt LOL

Just installed my N1 lip for the second time (not going to talk about what happened to the first one) and recieved it in horrible condition, but its a pretty easy fix.
Step 1: Get yourself a heat gun...$10 cheap one will do
Step 2: Sit outside or in the basement and just start at one end of the lip, doing small sections at a time, working the backside, and just keep heating it until its soft enough to see your fingers pushing on the other side.
Step 3: Work all the way across, even doing areas that you don't think are warped, and your done.
Just another tip, make sure to clean the lip and your bumper really well with dish soap and water to remove the oil residue left from the mould, or else the tape won't stay on.
Heres a video I used to give me an idea of what I was about to do...
Oh, and another little tip...look for Scotch 3M exterior wall mounting tape. Slice it down the center so peels off in thinner sections as I don't find the tape holds as well when only half its surface has contact. Remember to use lots of little strips (8" of tape roughly) instead of one long one, as it will hold better, and put an inch of space between them so water doesn't sit on the tape in the winter.
Hope that helps, good luck.

I purchased a heat gun (1000 degrees Fahrenheit on high) tried to heat it up evenly but nothing happened, in frustration I focused on heating just one area where it was caved in, I slightly melted that area and it still didnt go back into shape. Used a pot holder to try and bend and shape it but it just went back into place. The lip just won't go back into shape.
