Anybody use megan racing cat back exhaust system?

i been looking all over online for an exhaust system to upgrade to that i can afford. (trying to stay under $500) my question is, has anyone used the megan racing cat back exhaust (http://www.assaultech.com/megan_raci.../i-520232.aspx) < the ones im looking at.. my thing is it says bigger pipping but quiet sound. while im not trying to sound to obnoxious i still want that nice deep tone like the coupes and the 350z's have. how do they sound is megan any good? this is my first import and im used to old school chevy's i can just straight pipe

First of all searching would have told you what you were looking for. I would suggest looking in the sedan exhaust compilation thread, many have run the megan but there are a few other options. Hearing an exhaust in person is better than the internet!

Nope, nobody use it. Not a single person.

Here you go, they have sound clips with few different setups. Its a good exhaust. Also dont pay anything over $425 shipped for one of these. Contact Marinnelli motorsports for one. They quoted one for $360 awhile ago.

Used to have one on until I got the ART pipes, then it was just far too loud and had too much rasp, it is a little louder than I expected but the overall sound was just about bang on for what I was looking for.

See if you can find a used Motordyne VQ set up for the sedan. It will be tough but well worth it in the end if you could. Best exhaust for the sedan ever.

I almost went with the Megan set-up, but after hearing my buddies I was a little leary. Lots of drone and a little much for my sedan. I like a little growl but didnt want to sound ricey... I would start with a coupe middy and go from there.. I only paid like 160 bucks installed for mine.

I have a coupe middy, D5 muffler, headers and it sounds really cool. Deep sporty sound!

I got my muffler off Ebay for $79 shipped!

My buddy had this exhaust on his sedan and it sounded pretty nice. Wasn't as deep as I would want. I know there's an exhaust thread here somewhere with sound clips. But here's a one

I just ordered a Megan Racing OE-RS last week and it should be here Friday. I have an 05 G35x and it's completely stock, and I'm going to do a "before and after" video. I'll post it here when it's finished.

I would get the Megan if that is the only exhaust work you are going to do. If you plan on putting HFC's/Test Pipes then the Megan will be too loud

I put on the full cat-back on Monday afternoon. Drove to/from work on Tuesday. Put the stock mid-pipe back on Tuesday afternoon. Shizz was waaay too loud for me. I wanted an improvement in exhaust note without yelling "LOOK AT ME". I'm very happy with the sound now, with the stock sedan mid back in there. Zero drone at cruise, but I know it's there when I step on it vs light/moderate drone at cruise and worrying about neighbors as I pull out of my driveway at 5:30am.
