How to clean a coupe middy?

Alright so I bought a 05 coupe middy it's in good condition just needs a little cleaning up , no rust at all ... Also was wondering after I clean it up if I should get it painted ??

lol seriously? you should do neither...its going under the car and will be dirty again after your first drive down the road

being that you are in NY, it wouldnt hurt to hit it with some primer. Its gonna get dirty, but the primer should help prevent rusting, especially at the flanges.

Yeah that's what I meant by cleaning / painting I didn't mean to make it look "pretty" Meant for protection purposes

as far as cleaning, just use a wire brush, no need to get fancy

I'm hoping to get one in the near future, and plan on just a wire brush clean and then hitting it with some flat black primer simply for rust prevention. Probably not needed, but figured might as well. Couple bucks for a can of paint, and it's already off the car.

Exactly what I was getting at codey ... Lol but what type of primer should I use ? Coupe middy gets hot under there lol

Yeah it took me a little while too and found mine for 80$ picked up I said eff it at the point and got it , mine was from an 05 coupe

Does anyone know which primer I can use for it ? Only thing I think I'm worrying about is the temp ... Someone let me know what they used , just priming to prevent future rusting

Go to Napa or Autozone and get high temperature primer

If you file down the rotary-coupling a bit you will get a bit deeper tone out of the coupe midpipe.
