Alright guys I've been doing my research for the last few days on some basic maintenance for my G35 and instead of taking it to the shop I figured I spend the money on a new tool set and do all the repairs myself. I'm going to list everything with parts and update later with part numbers and links incase anyone needs to order the same.

My questions are: Do I need to change my throttle body? Will I notice a difference if I change it? What is the PCV valve?

Ah the joy of Amazon, low prices, and even lower shipping. On a side note, I DID accidentally order the wrong size rotors, but luckily Amazon even provides free return shipping too!

AAP with a coupon is good deal if you need it ASAP. But sometimes amazon wins shipped and sometimes AAP wins after tax.

Cabin air filter is another thing to hit up. i think i bought 2 off amazon for $15 shipped. As well as rear diff fluid, you need 2 qts of that stuff, they are in the ballpark of $10 each. You should be good to go for a while after that.

 

From Advanced auto parts get their purolator Pure one oil filters for $5.99

6 spark plugs Plugs NGK Laser platinums will put you at $42.
Air filters Purolator are $13 each and cabin air filters (Fram ones with carbon and baking soda) are $16.50 each.

OEM AC Engine belt package is $37 from Sewell parts.
OEM is better than after market belts as they have caused issues for some in the past.

I'd recommend upgrading to 05/06/07 front brakes (rotors, calipers, and pads)...looks like you have an 03/04. The new setup will not dust and be less likely to warp.

 

Damn no auto stores around me have belt tension gauges....what the heck!

 

Twist with your fingers to a 45 degree angle. Or don't tighten too much at first and then tighten til the belt doesn't squeak when starting the car in the rain.

 

Awesome, I'll give that a shot! As for the rotor size, I think it was just cheaper to reamin on the 03 calipers instead of swapping to the larger 05/06/07, I don't have any doubt that the newer setup is better though.

Get OEM belts from EBAY and Nissan of West Covina. OEM belts use felt on the ribs to make it quiet and not squeal upon start up. Get a belt gauge even if it is a cheap napa one. Get a belt tension gauge to make sure you are right. I was set nice and tight with no squeal and I was still of Major compared to FSM. I picked up a OEM OTC gauge and it is high quality along with accurate.

The gatorback belts are great and do not squeak unless you have them too lose or a problem with your idler pulley bearing

With the belts - do not over tighten. If you can twist the belt more than 90* it is too loose. Right about 80* is the proper tension.

 

gates makes a good amount of OE belts. I go with gates directly so you dont have to pay a prem for a nissan logo.

I also removed the idler pulley when mines was getting bad.

05+ brakes are sometimes hard to get a hold of. All you really need is the front set, the rears dont do too much.
