So is this really true?

I have heard quite a few times now that our G's throttle is limited to a maximum of 80% open. Is this true? I made a thread a while back asking what would happen if you were to remove the stopper behind the gas pedal and someone responded saying this. What do you guys think? How much power can you expect to gain by opening it to 100%? How much should you expect to pay for this mod?

Thanks

I have heard this before too.. I have also heard there are close to zero gains in forcing it to open to 100%.

you will probably need an aftermarket throttle controller to do this.

Its electronically controlled by the ecu, physically forcing the pedal won't do anything since the signal is modulated in the ECU. This is one of the most noticeable improvements with an Uprev tune, it syncs the throttle so it fully opens 100% and gives you a lot more responsiveness (among other things)

How much does an up rev tune cost and how do I do it? How much power can you expect to gain?

They make throttle controllers as well but IDK if they work.

This was something noticed a long time ago when the car is under WOT. It does go 100% open but around 5000-5500 rpms the ECU starts to close the throttle to about 80%. It was speculated this was for safety reasons.

Being that my ECU is the old style and not compatible with the Osiris I have no validation for this. I dont know that my ECU even has the same problems or not.

This. Though, opening a throttle valve more will not increase 'responsiveness', it's more likely to do quite the opposite. I'm sure you meant to say increase power.

High end power? yes, that will improve with a larger TB opening, but responsiveness/low end will not get better, it will get worse.
I don't get how it could possibly get worse? And is responsiveness how long it takes the engine to rev once the gas pedal is depressed?

I'm still expecting your write up seymore. You seem to have the best understanding of the matter at hand.

I can post up pictures comparing the stock vs uprev tuned electronic
Throttle control tables when I get home if you want a visual reference.

Ya that would be great and if you could answer some of the questions I posted earlier. That would be great too.
