I have a rattle coming from the mid to front of the car. When you run the revs up it a metal on metal rattle. Its only when you run it up a bit. Ive tried to find it but its starting to **** me off. Where could it be coming from. I have a megan y,coupe and magnaflow rear section but seem to be coming from the y up

 

The heatshield on the cats begin to rattle once they get loose with time and oxidation, or maybe you have fouled cats also. Another reason to switch to ART Pipes.

 

Ill check the shields. It doesnt sound like the cats themself. But Im wanting some test pipes now.

 

When I switched from a sedan mid-pipe to a coupe mid-pipe, the mid-pipe started to rattle on the round bar piece that looks like a driveshaft loop which is above the exhaust and is bolted to the floor via two small plates that are welded to the round bar piece. I just took it off for now. I've been meaning to make some slight modifications to it so the exhaust won't rattle any more. If I remember right, it has either one or two small bolts on each end that can be removed with a 10mm socket.

I wouldn't be surprised if your exhaust was rattling against that piece.

 

In this pic, you can see the driveshaft loop piece I'm talking about just above the last flange before the muffler.

 

I took that off when I put the coupe mid on. I hate the rattle.

 

i hope your not referring to the sway bar ( thicker black piece) and i hope you are referring to the skinny silver bar near the bend i the mid pipe. ???
