Ho do I get a perfectly smooth shift?

So I'm somewhat new to driving stick and I'm having trouble getting perfect shifts every time. At this point I'm confusing myself. So can someone please tell me exactly what I need to do to get a perfect shifts. Also, has anyone tried the rjm clutch bracket? Does this improve drivability?
Thanks

agreed. Practice makes perfect. I've put probably 200k+ miles on various cars since I turned 16 (all manual trans) and still don't shift perfectly every time unless I'm specifically focusing on it. It's just muscle memory, you will get there.

You just really have to learn to use the engagement point of the clutch, which means you just really have to get used to it, which like everybody else says, needs practice. If anything, IMHO, a heavier clutch with a more distinct engagement point will help.

So whats adjustable by this pedal kit? The engagement point? How stiff the pedal is?

The G35 has a very long pedal travel, so this kit shortens it, also supposedly shortening the abnormally long clutch engagement point as well. There are DIYs on how to put your own kit together, but I don't see why buying the bracket is so horrible.

^ Thanks. Sounds like a good mod. I drive in a lot of stop and go traffic and this should help me out.

The RJM bracket is the best money i have spent on my car so far, ive put about 2500+ miles on it in some good hilly city driving and after spending a week tweaking what works best for me, its fantastic.

I had the Dewolf clutch mod which is also 50% better than stock but the RJM kit is 90% better than stock.

Even people I know who have driven stick since forever can't shift smoothly on my car. The clutch really is kind of annoying. It's not that it's just grabby, cause it isn't. Dunno how to really explain it. Basically if i have some like car sick people in my car and want to shift smoothly I have to go one of 2 routes. Burn my clutch and let it out super duper slow. Or be on the borderline of dumping my clutch and use plenty of gas. The second one seems to give a jolt to the transmission you can hear, but it ends in a pretty smooth shift overall. Dunno if it is like wearing something out badly, but it seems to work.

Dunno about any aftermarket mods.

^ Agree. When I first got the car and didn't know hwo to drive it, this dude who has been driving stick for the last 15yrs came to help me. He stalled 3 times in a row and got up and left. He never came back. lol

I learned myself and whenever I try to drive a different car with a stick i let the clutch out way too early.

The clutch on the G35 just has a very soft spring. It has a long travel and is hard to feel.
