Frame Damage

I bought an 03 G35 sedan in November of last year for a good price. The remote and headlights didn't work so I had those fixed / replaced and I was ok with that.

Now that it's summer, I'm finding that the car isn't suiting my needs and I'm switching back to a sport wagon like what I had previously. I went to sell the car to carmax and they found frame damage that I wasn't made aware of when I bought the car. The seller told me that there was a fender bender and some bumper sag but nothing big and it wasn't reported to any insurance company.

Is there any sort of legal action I can take to recoup my loss? What are my options from here? I really want to be rid of the car so I can get a more functional vehicle but this is keeping me from doing so. Any input is appreciated, thank you.

No legal action and all you can do is disclose to the buyer since you now know that it has frame damage. Trade it in to a dealer or sell it at an auction/ebay. No matter how you sell it you will have to take a hit since it has frame damage / salvage title.

For the record, it has a clean title. I got a loan on it through my credit union and had it been salvaged, the loan would have been denied.

Forward me the vin and let me try to have a buddy run an auto check on it and see what shows up. How did carmax come up with the conclusion it has frame damage. Is it via visual inspection or by autocheck / carfax.

What type of damage? I was a frame inspector at the auction and I can tell you if it is actually frame or if carmax is just full of it..

I think you're out of luck. Did your car actually get inspected in person?

Carmax did a visual inspection. To my knowledge, they're pretty thorough. I had no idea until they mentioned it. The car is completely fine aside from the lines in the trunk being off. No sort of alignment issues or anything.

Autocheck sent to you. It came up clean on there no accidents and no frame damage. I would have a professional body shop throw it on a frame rack and see what it looks like. You can trade it into a dealer and most of them just to a quick spin around the block and run a carfax/autocheck.

Haha I love chiming into threads like these... Put it on a frame rack! Lol so it pinches the rails and definitely looks like frame damage! Lol your front aprons probably have have been repaired/re-welded. It happens to a lot of cars that are Involved in fender benders... he did say that no accidents were reported because only 60% of all accidents report....
