Hey dude, I also just bought 245/35 & 255/35 for my rays(vent us v12). How do you like them vs stock? The size difference I mean...more traction?
Hard to say, really, since I don't track the car and it's been a long time since I ran the stock sizes. Even then, the stock tires were trashed so it would be difficult to compare. I can say that traction with the new BS 970's is great, and the look is just right. IMO this is about as wide as you want to go on these rims.
I just bought some 19" Rays to mount on my sedan. I am planning on running Continental ExtremeContact DWS 225/40-19(Front) and 245/40-19 (Rear). I believe I have the sport-tuned suspension which I have not modified (i.e. lowered) at all. I don't have rolled fenders. Will I rub going over bumps and with the rare chance I have people in the back??
I did the tire calculation and I'm within the 3% range in terms of difference in the rear. So I am hoping that it is okay in terms of throwing the VDC off right?

I recommend doing 245/35 front and 255/35 rear, this way youre able to take full advantage of the wheels' contact patch. It will fill in the front and rear wells a lot better too. You will need to roll the rear fender either way.
See that's where I am getting such conflicting information on the forums. I've read a lot of people running oem sized tires and they have said that they don't experience any rubbing unless they are lowered.
I just don't want to rub nor do I want to roll my fenders at this point while running 225/40-19F and 245/40-19R on the stock sport suspension for my sedan.
I think 35 profile compliments the rays. I have a RWD with 245/35 front and 255/35 rear. Fenders are rolled. Sits flush with no spacers and dropped about 2"

Do you notice a difference in ride harshness with 35s? I still cant decide whether I want to go for looks with 35s or ride quality with 40s.
Used to run 245/30, 275/35. Dropped all the way on tanabe sustec pro's, spc f/r control arms, no spacers no fenders rolled. Yes you can fit a 275 on the rear trust me lol
My coils are really stiff so my judgement is biased. Very bumpy but I had always ran 35s until I got my Vertini Drifts. Now I run 255/30/20 and 285/30/20. Surprisingly things feel a bit more softer now.
I'm resurrecting this thread because it's time to replace all four corners.
I'm running a G/Z setup on my 04 RWD sedan, with 19" Rays.
Right now I'm running 245 40 in the back and 225 40 in the front. I like the look and feel of it.
I was going to go up to 255 40 in the rear, but the tire shop guy kept insisting I go with a 265 35 instead. I can't really see a reason for this unless he's overstocked on 265 35s haha. I mean, I'll lose some ride comfort with a 35 in the rear. The overall diameter is only 5.5mm difference, and that means less than 1% difference in diameter, circumference, and revolutions per mile.
Now that I'm running around 400hp at the wheels, I'll take all the extra traction I can get. Basically the 265/35 buys me about an inch per tire of rear road contact over the current set-up.
But will it look weird? And will I have any clearance issues in the rear? If I have two adults in the back seat (which is rare) I have rubbing issues. When there's nobody in the back, I don't.

265/35 might bulge out a bit depending on the tire make, im running 255/40 all the way around and it looks about all that it can handle. id suggest just getting stickier tires over wider ones
