Vibrations at 70MPH+

I have been sensing slight vibrations when crusing on the highway at 70MPH+ for several months now. I recently installed new summer tires, had them balanced, but the vibrations remained. I can feel it in the steering wheel and my seat. Oddly enough, if I accelerate the vibration disappears. Seems if the engine has more load it goes away.

My car has 90K and the front rotors are slighly warped. But when I apply brakes it is a completely different vibration, so I'm thinking its not that. Could it be a bad alignment? Engine mount? Wheel bearings? Rear axles?

I had the same problem I took my car to the dealer and they told me that my driviers side engine mount was bad. I replaced it myself and no more vibration. Looking at it on the car it didn't look bad but once I got it off you could tell it was coming apart.

confirmed the wheels have been tighten?

If you had new tires installed, maybe one of those tires are bad out the box. Could be a bad belt on one of them.

Was it easy to replace on your own? I've been thinking its one of the mounts since the vibration mysteriously disappears when accelerating, say from 70 to 80 MPH for example.

Yeah all the lugs are torqued to 80 ft lbs. I had the same vibrations before I got the new tires. I thought the new tires and the balancing would resolve it, but it didnt.

Its not to hard to change the engine mount. You will need to remove the air box and intake hose from the throttle body, and remove the heat shield from the manifold, and remove the top nut off the engine mount. Then get under the car and remove the lower engine cover and loosen the bottom nut on the passenger side engine mount but do not remove it, and remove the bottom engine mount nut use a jack and raise the engine just high enough to remove the drivers side engine mount. I think part of the suspension was also in the way but I don't remember its been awhile since I replaced mine but it took me about 2 hours to do it by myself.

Were your wheels Road Force balanced?

Did you check to see if any of your wheels are bent?

Search for a thread I started a while back for vibrations at 75mph and above. A lot of good ideas there and the problems that I found that when fixed solved my vibrations.
