I noticed that in manual mode, the tranny does a great job matching the revs in a downshift. I don't know if the older model Auto G35's did that too, because my brother's '03 FX doesn't do it.

I have a 2004.5 at and use the downshift all of the time. I like using the brake pedal as little as possible. Plus I like to hear the engine.

That might be a bad thing. I do this all the time with my manual accord. However, I don't do it with my g35x auto. With manual transmission, the clutch takes all the beating with engine braking. But with auto, the transmission itself takes the beating when you do engine braking. Yes, it's nice to hear the engine sound but it's alrite to do it in manual but perferrably not in auto is how I understand it.

The Rev matching is new for 2005 models only... the 2005 350Z has it also...

I wasn't aware that the '05 G's had this. I read that the new M35/45 have it.
Nice feature if you like downshifting a lot. Saves wear and tear on the tranny and the rest of the drivetrain.

^ Yep, that's got me thinking about it. I read the review in MT about the M45 having the feature and I noticed the G35x did the same..
