Sedan brake confusion - Need some help

I am helping a friend change her front brakes (rotor and pads) because they are completely worn.

She has a G35 sedan and said that it is a 2006 w/ manual tranmission.

I've checked the FAQs and found this:
Q - Do different G's have different brakes?
'03 and '04 Sedan, '04 and '05 Sedan X
Front: 11.7-inch X 0.9-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston
Rear: 11.5-inch X 0.6-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

'05+ Sedan and Coupe, '06 Sedan X
Front: 12.6-inch X 1.1-inch power-assisted vented disc - 2 pistons
Rear: 12.1-inch X .63-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

Based on the FAQ i would expect that she has the following "Front: 12.6-inch X 1.1-inch power-assisted vented disc - 2 pistons"

But when I took a look at her front calipers this is what i saw:

This looks like a single piston caliper to me. Am i missing something?

This is what i expected to see for a dual piston caliper....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-06-Infini...5a4cd5&vxp=mtr

Based on what I can find online - it looks like the pads are the same between using the "11.7-inch X 0.9-inch power-assisted vented disc" and the "12.6-inch X 1.1-inch power-assisted vented disc." Can someone confirm this?

Can someone explain why it appears she has a single piston caliper, instead of the dual piston? Also what size rotor is she suppose to have? (i plan on physically measuring the next time i see her, but its just bugging me based on what i saw.)

Although you see one caliper it could have 2 pistons inside that caliper. You have to remove the brake bad and see the pistons. Or you can turn the wheel all the way out and see the inside of the caliper if you see two recesses it'll have two pistons.

The pic you posted is the 06-2 piston caliper. Her car does have the 12.6" rotors and no, the pads are not the same as the 1 piston calipers.

Understand each corner is a single caliper. i have always seen single pistons have that single "c" shape and dual pistons have that double "c" shape on the caliper

Yours are dual piston?

Sigh. I'm back to confused. So was there two types/versions of dual piston calipers? One type like the one in my photo and another type like the one in your photo?

Your friend is mistaken, she has a 03-04, not 05-06, it shows in the picture that she has 17" 5-spoke sports wheel with lots of brake dust, which is a feature of OEM 03-04 brake pads. I'm surprised no one caught that.

So 03-04 = single piston with 11.7" rotor

I am not trying to beat a dead horse here. But they look "physically" different. Look at the portion that I circled in yellow and compare between the two pictures. I assume that my friend knows what year her car is - hence why i am confused.

Unless nissan/infiniti made two types of dual piston calipers.

Yes they are 5-spoke wheels and yes there is a boat load of brake dust. the front passenger side was even worse.

I am going to crawl under and look at the backside of the caliper and measure the rotor to confirm when i see her again in order to confirm. I made the thread thinking there was some other explanation.

I was just going to say that.

That rim is not an 2006 rim, it's a 2003-2004 rim.

Please confirm the year of the car she has. Just check the door sticker or snap a pic of the exterior.

Save the effort....check the door sticker and check the date of manufacturer. Snap a pic of the car.

Seems like she has a 2003-2004, and not a 2006.

Just open the door and see when the car was manufactured, unfortunately most(not all) women do not know what they are talking about when it comes to cars. this is pretty much why I asked again.

You need to confirm the year.
