The Blizzard of 2XX5

My G35X is on order and will arrive mid February...In the mean time I've been living viCARiously through you Guys. Unfortunately though I'm GoinG to miss out on this weekends snow flakes. Any stories relating to your X cars performance would be Greatly appreciated...Just how deep a snow drift can you safely navigate? Bring it on.

Can't wait for my XcarGO!!!

Waiting for the snow today too. You guys out on the Island have had more than me so far.

Anyway, snow drifts.... we're driving a car, not a Hummer! Lol! Drive safely and remember that just because u have AWD you're not invincible to Mother Nature. I've driven safely in 6-8 inches but you're still gonna slip slide.

Enjoy your X. Post some pics when you get it and welcome!

Do some donuts in a parking lot with the VDC off!

I am not far from LI myself and will check out the snow later. Supposedly 12-18 inches today.

I just luv the G. I have been in snow where I was actually plowing the stuff (but,I do try to avoid it that deep). It is nice in the bad weather to know you have a bit of extra traction there. I feel much safer driving the X instead of my GMC Z71 4x4, except in the deep wet white stuff!

Xman,
Thanks for your concern, but trust my I drive with my head not over it. epically with a new ride. I currently drive a 2 door Blazer which I have pushed to the limit on a few occasions...you know when you get that case of "get home itis". But, I take it slow and easy and often end up passing those who have passed me only to end up in the ditch. Forward momentum is a good thing but too much momentum can get you in a world of hurt real fast.

The Xcar is a whole new animal...but I'm looking forward to a new learning curve. I have done 6-8 inches in the S-10 w/no problem but I would think that might be pushing it in the X

Praying for snow....mid February

Well, I have the 6MT, obviously no X version. I live in the northern suburbs of Chicago. So far I have approximately 11 inches of snow, drifts are well over 18 inches.

I went to pick up lunch for my boys and their friends. Left fine. Traveled there and got back fine. That is until i turned into my driveway. 5 tries and the use of my neighbor's driveway for speed and I made it!

I ordered wheels and snow tires from Discount Tire. They ordered the wrong wheel and I am still waiting. Maybe I should have accpeted the Konigs in lieu of the Enkie RPM's!!

quicksilverj810,
That's awesom that your dad lets you drive the new Xcar.
I learned to drive in my dad's late '70's Golfers Yellow BMW 2002 tii...Every trip to the Dairy Barn or grocery store was like a mini road rally.
Have fun...be safe

Haha, Interesting post and name. Kudos for creativity. I can tell you're very excited about 'GettinG' the G.LOL.
From what I've heard about the G-X, it's great in the snow especially with snows on all corners.
Have fun in the snow when she arrives.
C.

Gsedanman,
Thanks for the acknowledgment, and yea....I'm psyched.

I actually joined under a different name a few months ago but once I put the $'s down I decided I was finally time to get a more appropriate name...I was very surprised that XcarGO was available.

I got lucky. My RWD G is at the dealer for service. My loaner is an '04 G35X. I had to drop my wifes van off for a tire repare and it was snowing like crazy. I let her come and get me in the X. I would never have let her out in this weather driving my RWD G
