The DRL is the high beam bulb run at 40% power.

Do your high beams and/or fog lights work?

I think he is asking about the small bulb that is in the fog/hi housing of the 04-05 sedans. Op, check sylvanias website for a listing of your cars bulbs.

That's usually called a "city light".

OP needs to confirm which bulb of his is out.

Agreed, or just go to sylvania site and become self sufficient. Give fish vs teach to fish.

Yea its a small bulb. So are you saying my car doesnt have a DRL? Because my high beams are never 40% on.

When I turn the car on there are no lights on. 1st turn on the light lever the "city light" or what I thought was a DRL comes on along with the side marker lights on the bumper. 2nd turn the lever headlights come on.

The fogs only come on when the headlights are on, and I turn the lever for them.

High beams come on when the headlights are on, and I pull or push the light lever. Also this cancels the fogs until I take the hi beams off.

DRL's are only on Canadian models since it's mandated. US models do not use DRL's.

If it did have a DRL, it would use the high beam bulb run at 40% power. Nowadays, more manufacturers are using LED's are DRL's for styling.

But what you are referring to is typically called the "city light" or a parking light. It's on 03-04's and was removed in 05

Correct except for this whole 40% thing. I thought you mis-printed it the first time so I said nothing. where does the other 20% go?

DRL's run the high-beams at Half voltage (Series circuit). This splits the voltage ("power").

Splitting 100% = 50% to each high beam filament.

sorry just bothered me
