Hi. 2004 G35x sedan. Upon opening the hood the other day I find duct tape wrapped around some accordian-style air hose near my engine. (See pic.) Sorry. Don't know what that part is called. Never noticed the duct tape when I bought the car a year ago. Now I am wondering if a mechanic or some quicky lube oil place cut it by mistake and did a sneaky fix job on it. I guess I could tear it off and see what's going on... any chance of it catching fire? Any advice? Expensive to replace?

 

It is the air intake pipe, it wont catch fire, but if its ripped I'd leave the duct tape on it until you get a new pipe... possibly time to upgrade!

My tube is ok, the tape is wrapped around the coupler. Can that part be purchased any where? Z tube only shows tube, couplers are not included. Where can you get the coupler?
