Question Headlight conversion question

whats going on people, i have a dilema meybe yall can help. i have an 03 g35 sedan, i been wanting to swap my dull old looking headlights for some new ones. i found decent ones on ebay, but they are the halogen ones, which i dont mind bc i can always get an HID kit for it.. now my question is, my stock ones are factory HID healdights.. how or has anyone wired halogen headlights to the facotry HID harness. i dont want to ge them and not be able to install them, bc i know im gonna run into that problem. any ideas or tips.

^ Im not sure what the guy in the above link did... I was thinking of just baking my stock ones opening them up, taping off the light and painting the housing, any one have experience with this? Oh and restoring the lenses too.

If your switching out because they are dull, as in yellow, get a $15 lens restore kit from your local car parts store, or RGS labs FW1 Marine formula cleaning wax spray. They should clear right up, and should last you 6 months, until the next cleaning. The RGS can be used on other things also, like taking tree sap off your paint. Worth it.

My stock headlight lenses were trashed. I would do the headlight restore bit every 3-6 months and they still looked pretty bad. Then one day this fall they met the back bumper of an F-150 and that was that, lol.

I got the ebay "crystal black" lights and had Stephen (R1 Autoworks) do his magic with a projector retrofit and man, is it a world of difference. I highly recommend his work.

Sorry for the low quality, but here's a pic with one old and one new. I much prefer the new hotness myself. Not only do the headlights perform way better than stock, but Stephen also did some nice custom work on the turn signal, grinding down a projector lens to fit. It looks really cool.

Nice, can you link to the R1 Autoworks. My Googls-Fu is not turning anything up.

He's a vendor that caters specifically to this website:

I also have an '03 with the dull haze headlights. I did the restore kit but found that one light came out nice and the other has improved but is still hazy. I realize now that the haze is on the inside of the lens. my question is all these crystal black lenses seem to say halogen only and I have stock HID. WTF is there really a difference in the lens because I don't see any. Does anyone know where I can get the right ones? the HID ones on ebay seem to be double the price.
