2003 G35 Sedan - Turbine Rev Sensor?

I have a G35 Sedan, build date 02/02. I am trying to locate the Turbine Revolution Sensor for replacement. I have searched and some say it is on top of the transmission in the bell housing. I don't find it. I did find a sensor on the driver side down low. I pulled it but reinstalled it since it did not look like the round part of my new sensor. It was flat and rectangular. Any help very much appreciated. Thanks

You found the crank shaft sensor. The Revolution sensor is located on the back side of the tranny. I havent replaced mine but I have been researching. It could possibly be inside of the tranny from what Ive read but youll have to take a look for yourself. And I know this thread is years old. Im just now having tranny problems thouughhhhh.

Before you spend a bunch of time replacing the sensor, there is a bulletin for a P1710/P1716 codes for replacing the TCM on this early G35. There is a chance that a new sensor may not fix it.

That sensor is also internal which is why you haven't been able to find the plug for it. The harness runs in and over the valve body and if you try and replace it, you will wish you didn't because that is a sucky job to do.

Angry

My car was acting funky as hell. Gauges went all wakey after a hard rain. Then my tranny started to give out with no prior warning. My car has been sitting for a minute. I start it up often. It starts and tuns perfect. When I first start the engine, all the gears will function properly but once the engine warms up, the tranny is useless. Its like the clutch isn't engaging. All of my dash gauges and lights are working properly. Besides the SES sign lit up.
The issue could be one of many different problems. I need to start trouble shooting. I miss my G. I've been driving around a chrysler crossfire
