Aluminum pedals
Aluminum pedals
I like the aluminum pedals and was thinking about putting them on my '05 6MT Sedan. I was under the impression they were coming on it from the factory, but it looks like they only ended being on the coupe.
My questions are:
- Will the '04 pedal kits fit on the '05? I see Grubbs has a set.
- What is the real 'advantage' of aluminum pedals. I like them because they look cool.
- Is there a negative other than them likely being a little more slippery?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

The pedal are aluminum with raised rubber "nubs" so they are in fact less slippery. The gas pedal however is more slippery since it is simply a drilled piece of aluminum with no rubber nubs -- but that's less important since no real pressure is applied during normal driving, contrary to braking.
I have them on my 2003.5 sedan and would assume they'll fit a 2005.
Anyone else like to chime in with info on install on 2005??

The aluminum pedals add 45hp when put on a stock G
I know, I know...not funny.
They should fit..........post a pic of your 05 pedals so we can see if there is any difference in the setup.

(At least the ones from Grubbs) I had a loner last week without them. My God, those
factory pedals are so Fugly! I don't know why anyone would not upgrade to the drilled
aluminum pedals.
They will fit the 2005 6mt sedan. I just put them on last night.
It's not hard, just took a little more elbow grease than I thought. Only the gas pedal was a little scary - hard to see down there, and i kept worrying about breaking the little clip that you need to saw off it. All went fine, however.
One tip - get a short flathead screwdriver. You'll need it to ease the rubber lip over the clutch and brake pedals.
