Stereo Problem
Stereo Problem
I live in the NE and it's really cold now. After a long day out in the cold, when I start the car and turn the radio on, the radio goes on but nothing comes out of the speakers. I go through all the modes (AM/FM/CD/SAT). If I push the Audio button and notch the bass or treble up one notch the speakers kick in! Doesn't happen when the car's warm. Has anyone else had this problem? I have the Bose.
I haven't heard of this problem with the G35 but a 06MY MB M-Class we tested in a cold chanber had that exact same problem. Once the car warmed up everything worked fine. We sent the part to the supplier and he found that some of the wiring was barely connected and when the unit was cold (remember that everything shrinks when it gets really cold) the wires were intermittently touching, therefore causing the radio to turn on but no sound.

My Alpine in my previous car would fail when it got cold and damp. It was the dampness
affecting the face plate. If I removed the face plate and took it inside with me when not in
use, all worked fine when I reattached it. Sounds like the cold/damp air is screwing it up.
Be sure it is not working when you take it to the dealer for a fix
