Cool P0300 = Death Sentence ?

I have had this car sitting outside for a minute now and i think its time to rebuild her. It was doing the misfire codes. Some damn technician said it was cuz i cracked my gasket or something . Wouldnt it be popping more codes then P0300 and p1614 I doubt to high hell that this means my car is totalled. Talking about engine plus cost plus a wiring system cause the oem one is modified. Can someone who knows their obd2 codes please let me know if im sol or not.

It could be from the wiring harness being bad...

P0300 = random misfire/multiple cylinder misfire
>> This could be from a lot of different things

P1614 = NATS/ Nissan Anti Theft System
>> Normally this is from the ECU not recognizing the key in the ignition and therefore disables the ignition signal

How long has the car been sitting? If the ECU is not bad - then you might need to have the keys REFLASHED at the dealership to sync up properly

As for the P0300 - this could be from a bottom end problem (piston, spun bearing), electrical issue (ECU bad, ignition coil packs, bad ground, etc) or even from fuel issues.

It could be a more simple issue, or it could be a bigger issue.

Worst case: New motor, New Wiring Harness, and new ECU....this would be a lot of money potentially but could be done for much less than you think also.

I would try a lot of cheap things to try an cure the P0300. Some cases its just a cheap and easy fix. Not saying yours is. Normally you get P030x along with it like a specfic cylinder as well. Gives you something more finer to look at. I've seen a simple fail bad intake manifold ($25 and a hour or 2 of your time). I wanna say a dead coilpack will trigger a certain cylinder. Bad common ground is something hugely common.

Your car is not dead. It could be cheap to fix.

Damn cuz i was told the head gasket has a crack and i need a whole new engine i was like wtf. It makes no sense. But yeah im gonna get this comp test then get new plugz if that is the case. Someone said flush out the radiator and do an oil change as a fix also i just dont know what to do at this point lol.

head gasket COULD be the end result.

For major head gasket leaks, you can see coolant and oil mixture in either fluids. Normally your coolant will look like cholcate milk VS the GREEN or BLUE OEM Nissan fluid. So will your oil. Don't rule it out yet but thats more like step 10 when you haven't done step 1 yet.

You dont seem to have the knowledge to do everything yourself so my best advice for you is to take it to another shop pay them the one hour labor ($75-150) and DONT say anything about the headgasket and see what solution they come up with. They might not be able to touch the P1614 but i'm 100% any decent tech can figure out a P0300.

Get a second opinion, if the head gasket is leaking that's your p0300 problem right there. Flushing the radiator will not fix this.
