New here

Hello all,

Name is Marc and I recently bought a seriously neglected G35 sedan.
It is the Desert Platinum Beige 2003 with Bose and black leather

Issues that the car has....seems to keep growing

157,000 miles

- AC issue - at 60 degrees blows cold, at 61...gets hot quick

- Both headlights (Xenon of course) have broken tabs...2 out of 3 on each.

- Passenger seat control does not work to move seat forward or backward but control does work for the recline function.

- Driver fender is dented

I have just changed all fluids except coolant

SO...I love the car, rides great but these issues are annoying me...

I have searched (quickly) but haven't found a solid yes on if the Halogen lights will plug into the lighting harness for the Xenon headlights. I want to avoid replacing the xenons because they are just too damn expensive

Any advice for a new owner would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A little about me.

Lived in Japan for almost 20 years (US Navy Retired)

I have owned the following cars

1984 Nissan Bluebird Turbo
1990 Nissan Silvia Q"s
1988 Nissan Silvia Q's that I swapped to a CA18DET
1988 Nissan Cefiro
1990 Nissan Avenir
1994 Nissan 180sx
1996 Chevy Astro van
2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon
1996 Nissan Silvia K's
1998 Subaru STi Wagon
Now the G35

Plans for the G35....?

Maybe a set of springs to lower a bit, painted skirts, trunk lip spoiler and roof spoiler, nothing major

Marc

Hey Red, welcome!

To fix your AC issue there might be a "VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN 2003 INFINITI G35 SEDAN; AUDIO FINISHER CIRCUIT BOARD"

The circuit board is toast in your head unit. Please use the following threads to help you better understand your options.

Welcome Marc!
Sounds like you have your work cut out for you. With the headlights most of then should plug right up. Contact the sellers and make sure that they will plug right up. Make sure to contact the sellers to make sure that they will. In some instances you need a conversion plug.

Welcome to our help line Marc, sounds like you have your hands full since you posted the word "Neglected!" You've received some very good advice thus far thanks to our members. Change your radiator fluid keeping in mind you need to remove all the air once it's filled via the bleed valve on the bottom front of the radiator. Any air left you'll have over heating issues. 20 years in Japan, coming home must have been a culture shock....

Gary...you could say that.

I tried looking on NICO's Infiniti forums and it seems a little quiet in there.

I appreciate all the advice I have gotten from this board so far and look forward to being around.

I really like the car, it has good power, is comfortable and looks good.

I miss my Subaru, but with the coilovers I had on it, the G35 feels like peanut butter....smooth

those headlights are 2005 and up.....FML

However...if anyone needs a set for an 05 these look great.

Headlights Depot has great customer service.
I called and asked if they could re-verify if these were supposed to fit the 2003 G.
They said that they were for a 2005, and apologized for the amazon add.

sent me a free FedEx shipping label to return them.

The headlights looked pretty well put together.

SO that having not worked out I am JB welding the broken tabs...

For the seat, you'll probably have to replace this part. I had to do it on mine.

JB welded the hell out of the headlight brackets.
Put the front end back together and "fixed" the dent in the fender by putting a bra on the car.
Will work until I can afford to replace and paint the fender.

Before

After

Be careful with that bra, our paint is very soft and you run the risk of scratching the hell out of your hood, fenders, and bumper. I would recommend taking it off even if you have to look at the dent until it gets repaired.
