2004 AC Compressor dead/questions
ac compressor died - after 143k, so i'm not complaining.
probably going to give ditch car off to kids, so still want to fix.
questions
trying to find a used one, is there a difference between the coupe and sedan compressors or are they the same.
do you suggest just replacing the compressor or should i replace other parts also.
really trying to find minimal cost fix with this, and aware of the potential issues, but again, car has a lot of miles on it, so kids can sweat a little if its not ice cold.

I guess the main question is how did the compressor die and what is the condition of the other components in the system?
If the compressor spewed a bunch of crap into the system, you'll need to flush/replace some/all of it. If there was a leak, and the moisturr caused rust issues that killed the compressor, you might need to replace more.
The typical repair process would be to replace the compressor, replace the expansion valve anytime a system is opened up. Flush the system, pull a triple vaccum (vac, nitrogen fill, vac, nitrogen, vac, nitrogen, vacuum) and then charge with oil and 134a
If you want to do it on the cheap....slap a used compressor on there and charge it up. But it will probably fail in the long term...and cost more that time
