Forgive me, seeking a definitive answer on coupe vs. sedan mid pipe/resonator

What I own is a 2006 G35x, which is obviously AWD. I'm reading that I can install a Coupe resonator if I want to change the exhaust note (and drop ~6lbs) Some claim there is no noticeable difference in power or sound, but I'm willing to see for myself.

I just want to know for sure that this will fit in my car. I read in another part of the forums that people have installed these, and are happy with them, but I'm hesitant due to the diagram being a little different than the one listed for my car, which is this.

Will it truly bolt in?

Thanks for the reply, will order today!

ETA: Ordered, and less than $60 delivered. Now I just need to grab some gaskets and I'm good to go.

Can you post up some sound clips when you have it installed? I'm thinking about purchasing a coupe mid pipe from rockauto also.

I'll do that. I'll try to do a before/after, but might be doing the plenum spacer and z tube at the same time.

I think the coupe resonator is less restrictive than the sedans. It will definitely be lighter and sound more aggressive. It will also bolt right on.

What Henry said. With that big muffler on the 05/06 you may not notice a huge difference, but you should notice some.

I'm looking forward to hearing this as well. It's $87.43 CAD shipped to me.

Right now, in transit to me, Walker resonator pipe, 5/16 plenum spacer, stillen z tube, and a grounding kit. Sound clip will very likely include all those mods being installed at once. Hoping for install on the 11th.

i did the magnaflow 14815 and coupe middy, sounds amazing, extremely happy. However i used the OEM hangers as well and the coupe midpipe does curve pretty low. i also have a Z-tube to a JWT pop-charger and love it too.
Good luck hope you enjoy it

I'll take your word for it and go with your setup as opposed to my original plan of having a whole new cat back exhaust. Besides, a coupe mid pipe with magnaflow is cheaper than a cat back

Did you notice any difference in power with the coupe mid pipe and magnaflow?

The one major issue that is never really discussed with running a coupe/z middy on the sedan is how low it hangs..for guys on coilovers such as myself it's a major pain in the butt. I'm beating this thing to death, i wish it tucked in like the oem does.
