I was pleasantly suprised to find that the new stereo in the 05 supports both MP3 and WMA playback from CD. Its advertised to support only MP3. The one thing I found though is that you can't just burn a CD using regular Windows functionality. I had to use Nero and the MP3/WMA burning functionality there to get it actually working. Nice to be able to have about 200 songs on a CD instead of 17-20.

 

Yep, That's one of the things I like about the otherwise crappy Bose system my car came with.

 

It's nice but there is a couple thing about it. When you set it to play random ALL DISC it's slow when changing disc and also when you want to skip a song (UNDER RANDOM ALL), it just fowards to the next song on the SAME ALBUM. Unlike most mp3 players, it would just go to the NEXT RANDOM SONG on a different album.

 

The owner's manual clearly indicates support for both MP3 and WMA. But I'm still jealous.

My sincerest apologies if this has been asked before, but can the '05 stereo be swapped into an '03.5?

 

If you put your music into files on the cd, you can have whole cd's and browse through those, makes it easier to find songs.
