"Dog Legs"

A while ago I posted a thread talking about all the paint chipping behind my rear door on my sedan. The body shop refers to them as "dog legs", just in front of the rear tire. I took it back to the dealer and they said it will need to be painted under warranty. They did both sides even though it was barely noticable on the passenger side.

The body shop said there is a problem that the door is too far in on the 03 at least and it seems to be occurring from cars travelling towards me and spitting rocks? (becuz it is mostly on drivers side). I told Infinity what he said and he got a phone call telling him not too ever say it is a factory defect if he wants anymore Infinity referals!

He painted it with a special paint with a thicker texture. Now 6 months later it is chipping in the exact same place. Time to make another appointment & get painted again, but it only has 10 months warranty and I know they might paint it again, but obviously it will continue to happen if they continue just to band-aid the problem without fixing the cause?

Any ideas?? T/Y

No ideas. but every car I have ever owned that had a protrusion such as that, had that problem, so I really doubt there is a "fix" for it. I haven't noticed on my G35 as of yet though.
