Hacking your Intelligent Key
Today while listening to CBS news radio 880 here in NY,NY they said that some college students were able to hack in to car alarms that use roaming codes, including intelligent keys by using a readably available device.
Now, they did not name the college or give details on how this was being done.
Has anybody heard about this? For me Intelligent key was one of the major attractions to the '05 vs the'04. Perhaps we need a way to deactivate the system when parking in bad neighborhoods.

Don't those kids at Johns Hopkins have anything better to do than try to bring down Texas Instruments? Sheesh.
It's not really a threat-- it takes quite a bit of work to hack them. They need to be close to the key for a while to pick up it's TX, compute for about an hour, then hotwire the car as well. I don't think you need to worry about it in the ghetto, but if you park at MIT, watch your back.
