Speedometer not working

Speedometer not working
All:
Last week I took my 2006 G35X to the dealer to look at my air bag light (supplemental restraint warning light) which had come on on the dash. They replaced my "spiral cable" ($286) and that fixed the problem.
On the way home from the dealer my speedometer stopped working! It lazily moved up to 120 mph and then slowly moved around to point straight down, and stayed there. I took the car back in, and now they tell me I need a new instrument cluster, $771. They say the speedometer problem is not related to the spiral cable.
Has anyone else had a speedometer problem? What do you think?
Stuart

Hi all, I didn't want to start a new threat...... but here is my question; I noticed that the speedometer is not really accurate, when it says 120Km/hr, I am actually going at 108-110, I double check it with the phone and 2 different GPS; have you guys noticed this? is it just my car and it needs a calibration?
Thanks
PS. I searched but could not find much....

Why not? most drivers in the US drive around 75-80mph on the highways so why is it unbelievable?
BTW in case you were confused or misread it, like many said its 120kph which is about 75mph
@parthur: like VQ linked it seems to be a common issue on Canadian models unfortunately
