Annoying ticking noise ! help !
Ok so I`ve done some research on this topic , and im almost sure of what the issue could be , but cause im not very mechanically wise I rather just get more opinions. My 04` sedan started with a very low , non noticeable ticking noise last Thursday , on Friday and Saturday it seemed to get louder even when it was just at idle ! so I started searching around and saw it thread about the fuel pressure regulator/damper , so that lid up a bulb the weekend before I travelled to a country part of VA & to my damn surprise the only gas station around didn't have supreme so i remembered someone said that plus will do .. so i went with it , Anyways .. i burned out the plus gas and filled it half way again with exxon premium , and noise has stopped at idle , but when driving it RANDOMLY comes on and off , sometimes very low sometimes loud ! i talk to a mechanic and told him what i thought it was ... he said he seriously doubted , he said to do a oil change .. but i just think he was just saying that .
I think it has to do with the fuel damper any ideas ?!
That almost exactly what it sounds like ( not my video , found it searching round threads)
Thanks a lot guys !

So your check engine light came on? Did you read the code?
I don't think the fuel would do it. I pretty much only run 89 octane these days (plus) but uses to regularly switch between 89 and 93 just to see if there was any difference in fuel economy (there wasn't). But during my testing i had no issues with noises and such.
If it's wasn't the fuel dampener, then it could be a mechanical engine noise. So i'd ask if you've checked the oil level lately and when the last time you did an oil change was?

No i have CELs on , and the car runs just as smooth and powerful as always .. and as for the oirl change , i bought the car about 2 months ago , when i first saw the car , it had a service engine soon light on , he said it was cause it needed a oil change , when i came back after two days he said he had done it and it was off .
Is it true that the SES light comes on , when in need of oil change or was that Just BS ?
Ethier way i plan on changing oil , should i go with a thicker oil ?

That's BS. The check engine light does not monitor oil change interval. More than likely he just reset the light and cleared an actual fault and just used that as an excuse
If the check engine light is on, go to autozone and get the code read.
Also, check your oil level. These cars are known to consume oil, so just because it was changed doesn't necessarily mean 5 quarts is still in the pan

Dude you should take that car back. How many miles? Mine ticked like that. if its loudest in the back of the motor i bet its a lifter tick. You can try to run heavier oil see if it helps but i would get a refund.

The noise is from your fuel damper. It comes from the passenger side and, at idle, you can hear it clearly, not when you are driving. This is a rather common problem with older Gs. I replaced mine recently. It's DIY job. Do a search here and you will get step by step procedures. The damper cost about $67, lot of money for a stiff hose and a small valve at the top.

Go to the website of parts.com. They sell OEM parts for most cars. I got mine for less than $70. If you need tips on replacing it, let me know.
Generally speaking, fuel injectors occasionally can cause this ticking noise described. No need to replace them (as replacing one means replacing all). If you feel the need, by all means do so. But that would by my summation of what the noise is. (BTW I am currently suffering from this ticking, especially at an idle; but I know for a fact it is my injectors).
