Guess I picked a bad day to quit smoking the rock
That explains the Gorilla Locks. Dad saw your car and knew it was the car he stole the wheels from. Probably went out right after you left and bought Gorilla Nuts to stop you from stealing them back.
I'm surprised the cops didn't impound the entire car rather than just take only the wheels.
I forget if it was this thread or another, but wasn't there video footage of the theives in a Pathfinder? I forget if it was another thread I was reading though. If so, did the family have one?
That's ballsy showing up to look at their car inthe car the wheels were stolen off! I wish i was a fly on the wall when the cops went to question the family.

Tim, that was really unwise of you to take the G. I would take a bicycle before I would show up to a courthouse with an assault rifle.
Ps, this is just a saying dont get all weird on me.

They incriminated themselves by doing that. They must have been shatting bricks the whole time they were talking to Blue Dream. lol

Just got off the phone with Farmers and here's where this all stands for now. There will be a seizure hearing in front of a judge who will determine ownership. My guess is that will be the insurance company. At that point I will have 3 options: 1. Reimburse the insurance company the entire amount of the claim. 2. Wait until the insurance company claims the wheels. They will then get a quote for the wheels from a salvage company and I can pay them the difference between what they paid me and what they would get from the salvage company. 3. They will provide me the contact information for the salvage company who bought the wheels and I can buy them back, more than likely through an auction.
As much as I love these rims I'm not paying a crazy amount to get them back so we'll have to see how all of this plays out. The insurance investigator I spoke to today did say that they could go after anyone who was convicted of the theft for repayment of the claim amount, but conceded that cases like this usually don't go that far. I do think the family is culpable in some way in the theft, I just don't know how and will let the police figure that out. But I'm damn curious so I'll keep bugging them for updates.
And for those of you who mentioned it wasn't a good idea to drive my car over there, I did it on purpose and came away safe so that's all that matters.

Wow.
That is way too complicated just to get your wheels back! Total BS!
I'd sue the people selling the car for "Intentional infliction of emotional distress"
