Just made an appointment to have vinyl installed over the chrome. What do you all think, flat or gloss black vinyl for the chrome and door handles? Black on black sedan.

I vinyl wrapped my handles and trim about 3 years ago and it is holding up great... looks like new even after several northern winters. Just use the thinnest black vinyl you can find (I used 3M) and take your time with a hair dryer and a razor. I also made construction paper templates before cutting the vinyl. A pic, sorry I don't have close ups:

Gloss black no question, look at the pic I posted. I later painted my headlight bezels and grill gloss black to match everything up.

Looks good man, what did that run? When I was looking to black out my chrome trim, I got some quotes in the $400 range so I just decided to take an afternoon and wrap everything myself.

I used 3m scotchcal vinyl, it was cheap for a nice size roll of vinyl. I bought it here:

Thumbs up Plast dip

I plasti dipped my rims, grill, emblems, and black around my side view mirrors and its working great key is to do 5 coats wait 15 min in between coats and stay between 4-6 in away and stay smooth on the spray strokes. I will post pics of my car soon as i find out how to post pics on here i am new to this forum,,

I should probably update this thread with a pic. Despite the thread name, I chose to go with a gloss black vinyl wrap over the chrome trim and door handles. It looks so much better, I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
