Hey folks, newbie here...

Looking into a G35 and the only thing I'm really turned off by, as it seems many people are (though many people LOVE them) is the tail lights...

I was wondering if anyone had changed them out for anything...maybe put clear instead of the red plastic on them, or swapping out the portion of the light that sits on the trunk...

Are there any sites or vendors that sell G35 aftermarket tail lights or anything like that? Thanks.

ummm also agree with you i dont really car for the sadans lights i own a coupe though so its not a problem for me. I think they are to big but they are also kinda the style of the car with out the lights i dont think it would be an G35.

 

I think the rear lights look awesome with the slanted LEDs... \\\ ...

 

Oh c'mon...cut me a little slack! Seriously, though, I just have to be able to do a little something about it....It's the ideal car for me, followed by the Maxima, and the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger is fear that I'd be stuck with the same rear end look forever...tell me there is hope...

 

Car is still too new to tell. Your personal preference is to change the tail ights, but like you said most here prefer the way it is....
Think some of the Japanese sites have pics that show the "Alteeza" look.

 

I seriously do not like clear tails, what many call alteezas, except on the IS. Saw a 4th gen Max today with a stock right taillight and a clear alteeza type on the left side. It made me think about this post.

But to each his own....

I think I saw some taillight covers a few months ago on a past post. It might have been a Japenese model with an Impul kit...

The only thing I wouldn't mind if they changed are those red stripes over the reverse lights, don't like em that much. But honestly, the rear end of the G sedan has grown on me


But I think the coupe rear end looks better

Hell yeah...that coupe is gorgeous no matter the angle viewed from. When I saw the coupe's reasr the first time, I was blown away... unfortunately when compared, the sedan's rear only looks so-so.

Thanks for the picture Chinee but it makes the G look like every other car out there. So far only the FX 35 &45 and the BMW 745 have the LED lights.

I love the lights, but every body has their own opinion.

 

Thanks for the pictures! As I said, I'm mainly just trying to find the different options that are out there...I think on this particular setup, I agree that they don't look all that hot...

I really hope at least there will be some options...I cant even find anything on Skyline replacement parts from Japan...

 

Yep -- the above is the G35 sedan with Coupe wheels and the Nismo front kit, with the Impul tail light covers
