1st G35 owner, few questions :)
Hey guys, new member and new g35 owner. So far I love it! Just got it yesterday
I had an 03 Maxima before and I loved that car also. But it died from a missed recall the past owner didn't worry about
but from that I was able to get my G35
I purchased an 04 G35 Sedan with Sports Package. I just had a few questions and maybe some can either point me in the right direction or know the answers to them.
1. I have a spoiler and when I hit the brakes, the spoiler lights up but the high mount brake light doesn't. Is it because the high mount has been disconnected for the spoiler? Or is it just out?
I hope not!
2. I have the bose system (along with the hideous tape player
) If I were to change the speakers, that shouldnt matter should it? I know the bose can be picky when swapping the stock cd player to aftermarket but I was curious about the speakers. Can they all be changed without having to deal with it not working?
3. My bulb where the shifter is, is out. (The PRND). I read here that its a 74 bulb. There is only 1 correct? And to get that off top cover off, it just pulls up? My maxima was like that but knowing me if I go ahead and try something new ill break something.
Sorry if any questions were to noobish but I don't care for all these "newer" cars that have everything hooked up into one module or something.
Have a good one.
Thanks!

Your only allowed 1 high mount brake light. It's possible at some point your spoiler was added to your car and the original brake light in the back window was disconnected. It's also highly possible the LED module is burned out as this is very common on 03-06 sedans. The original owner could have just decided that it was time for a new spoiler vs the labor and price to change that out. Who knows, but as long as the led on the spoiler lights up, your fine.
As for the one module thing, not really true. The g35 is still a car you can work on in your own driveway. It's not too complicated although some aspects will require so research. But all the routine maintainence can be done at home without issue.

Thanks for the reply Mustang5L5.
The guy at Infiniti said that the spoiler was put on at the factory since they used factory bolts. I was just curious to know if it were possible to have both on or if only one can be used at a time. I hope it didn't burn out!
About the module thing. Only reason I mentioned that was because my maxima had everything controlled into modules (electrical wise). I had problems with my power windows, seat and door locks and that was all controlled by the BCM. Not like the older models where all you had to do was swap a relay and bam it was fixed. The BCM had to be reprogrammed by the dealer. Such a pain!
Thanks for the service manual! That will def come in handy!
