Exhaust leak isn't likely to trip the engine light. What sensor are you referring to? What is the code you're getting?

Only way an exhaust leak would trip the CEL is if it's ahead of the o2 sensor allowing outside air to mix.

Cel is most likely unrelated. Might want to get it read.
