Do I Need These Rusty Things?

Yeah, my cat shields are rusty as hell and rattling. Car is an '06x with almost 89K miles. Can I remove these things? Has anyone had issues afterwards?

If you scrape now, oh shoot, its a cover.

If you scrape without it, ****, its the cat.

True true. Fortunately, my car is not really low - just coupe springs up front to even out the fender gaps. Still rolling on stock springs in the rear.

Yes, you can trim them off. Just be mindful of idling over things that might catch on fire, like dry grass.

I went to Home Depot and got 4 hose clamps and out two on each. Stopped the rattle...for now.
