Have you attempted to bleed coolant system ?

G35/350z are notorius for having issues with air pockets in coolant system.

Easiest and least messy way is to with engine cool open bleed port near back of engine( off heater supply line) add coolant to radiator until coolant flows out port, tighten bleed plug. Start engine and allow to warm up with temperature set to high, Repeat as needed.

You'd get better response if you posted this in the 1st gen section.
