New Member/owner first question
Greeting all, just picked up my 2003 g35 sedan today. I'm a veteran Datsun/Nissan/Infiniti man and I've been lucky over the years with the following car resume:
1967 Datsun 1600 roadster
1977 Nissan 280z 2+2
1984 300zx
1990 300zx
1994 Infiniti Q45 (still have it)
2003 Infinit G35 sedan (just got it)
Anyways, I do have a question, as I was playing with the driver side power seats (all 4 of them) and one of them got stuck. It is the rear-most seat height adjustment, and the seat is stuck in the high position. I took a peak under the seat and you may know it is worm-screw mechanism powered by a motor. It was working fine the first time I adjusted the height and it just got stuck and stopped in the highest seat position. The motor is not grinding as I try to lower it, so either motor crapped out, the connector is loose or the worm screw moved too far along the bolt and it now stuck in the extreme and there is not enought motor torque to reverse it.
any ideas or suggestions, it looks like I may be able to remove the rear Metal guide/shroud and gain access to 'easy it along', but I dont' want to risk damage to the motor unit, it that was possible.
any suggestions, or ideas, in any event, I look forward to this Forum and I know from the Q45 forums there is a lot of great information to be shared.
Regards,
Ponnytrekker

Congratulations, and sorry to hear of the problem.
Did you try to unstick it with no one in the seat? If you bought it from a dealer you could bring it back for help. If it was a private sale, you could call and ask how they fixed it when it happened to them
. I don't know the mechanics of the seat, but if it isn't making noise, it is probably, as you mentioned, either a connector loose or a burned out motor. The latter might have whined first, or smelled, or blew a fuse, though. Did you check the fuse box, by the way?
Good luck and let us know the outcome.
