High rpm.. no acceleration problem

Hi,

I've got a huge problem with my 03 G35 Sedan.. it has ~150 000 km on it.

ok, so I went out to test the vehicle this evening... here is everything I know that's happening.

Key put in, turned to "ON" the following lights will appear.

"AT CHECK"
"SERVICE ENGINE" -> this has been on since forever.
"SLIP"

if I turn the key to crank the engine, the dash lights turn off for 2 seconds and turn back on. engine does not crank or roll over.

I can put the transmission into neutral or any other gear. It is not locked anymore.

I have checked all fuses and they seem to be okay.

I have tried to jump start with a portable battery and also to another car. No luck.

Symptoms:
Drove it and couldn't get past 2000~2300 RPM.

parked it... went to work, came out and the above items occurred.

Bump... I checked the radio, and it looks all fine to me. Can someone assist me in finding the ground wires ? Perhaps one is disconnected. Problem not solved still.

Edit--

I found a disconnected ground wire underneath the car by the exhaust tail. I did a orbital radius around the area with the broken ground cable (it's a flat one) and doesn't seem to connect anywhere... has to be a spot, but I cannot find it. I'm uploading some images. Can someone please assist me?

I've uploaded images of the area and engine bay if someone can help me circle some grounding wires.

Also, I'm searching for the AT. Cont fuse.... not sure where the third fuse box is located @ since someone else had theirs blown a few times
and attached are some sketchy home made plated **** i found where the clutch is @... bought the car like that.

edit 2----

I've located the third fuse box... is there a diagram for this thing?

EDIT 3----

I found the culprit. Time to start pinpointing!

http://imgur.com/a/BEIvx#0

There was that sneaky darn hidden fuse box behind the battery compartment. It was my second time looking back there and finally found it.
From there, the top left corner fuse (10A) is the AT. Cont fuse. It's blown! (YAY?)
Replaced it with the spare one and fair enough, the car actually starts up now.

SECOND PROBLEM
It the car rolled a few times before starting up, so i'm assuming it's having problems starting... i stepped on the gas pedal to give it a bit of umpf and sure enough, it started.

SECOND PROBLEM SYMPTOMS:
a bit of white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. It's cold, i get it.. it'll be a bit white. But this was not the typical hot/cold white. it was white.. white.

ASSUMPTIONS??

I'm assuming perhaps a blown gasket? I still have not found why the fuse was blown yet either. (disconnected ground? short somewhere? perhaps that one image earlier from above.)

so i'm hoping someone would shed some light since i've gotten this far.

EDIT 4----

WHITE SMOKE IS GONE. I'm just assuming, since we had the car towed as a rear wheel vehicle, the back was lifted up and some coolant must have gotten into the engine somehow. everythiing seems to be back to normal now.

Hopefuly, someone else would be able to make use of this thread and have their issues fix if you ever have the same problems as we did with our 2003 infiniti g35

Need more info.

Was the check engine light on that prompted you to plug in an OBD2 scanner?

What is the transmission doing? Does it shift properly? At 5000RPM, the trans should upshift to the next gear. Is it not doing this? Was the engine hitting the rev limiter?

before this all occured, the transmission changed perfectly and shifts perfectly the lights were on, but I'm assuming it was just due to gas leak from not closing the lid tightly, I'll take it out for a spin again in a few hours and will have to get back to you. But it was only after I plugged in the OBD2 scanner that all of this started to happen

Did you ever get a code number when you hooked the scanner up?

I really wouldn't be suspecting the scanner unless some freak electrical issue occured. It's possible for the check engine light to reflect transmission codes.

try a different reader. Go to autozone and use their reader if need be.

I'll most likely get it towed back home (it's 30 minutes away) tomorrow.

car is in limp mode, get a obd2 scanner and find the code as of now were in the dark, many things can cause the car to go into limp mode and the not cranking might be a cam position sensor or crank position sensor, go to autozone, rent a scanner then report back

The reason why your elmer327 may not be working is, if your using a blue tooth Elmer327 but your app calls for a wifi enabled Elmer327 you will not be able to read a code. Check to see if your app calls for a blue tooth or a wifi enabled Elmer327. Until then borrow one from a parts store.

Not sure of battery status, may need replacement.

Suggest cleaning the MAF sensor, this can cause acceleration issues and not be detected by OBDII.

Just checked my car.

With the key to ON, not starting the car, the only lights to remain lit are:

Check Engine
Oil
Battery
AWD

Sounds like you need to get a different OBDII scanner and start from there

Thanks, I appreciate you checking. I'm going to get it towed home today and I'll rent out a proper scanner. I'll keep this thread updated in case anyone else ever runs into this issue and hopefully I can get it resolved and get some answers for anyone out there who needs it as well

Awesome. I'm quite curious, and very sad that you have to deal with this.
