11 Years Later... Highest Mileage G35 in the Planet?
Rust is a big issue. But mechanically, an accumulation of small problems will bring you to the point of the car being " just about done". Looking after these problems as they arise along with routine maintenance will give you much more longevity. I'm @ 135kish and it's still strong and smooth.
I am also curious as to the issues/repairs involved to go 300K.

No rust issues in FL,
Big issues have been
No ecu tuning capablity
3rd transmission (all due to crap cooling) added a transcooler and no issues
Thats about it. Had a rear main seal leak but took care of it.

160k and almost done? No way..a little TLC and that thing'll have plenty left. I'm at 123k and I have had zero probs other than suspension stuff.
This is true. My dad had an 83 Toyota pickup (22R) that had 530k on the first motor, swapped it for a used 22R with 150k, then drove that motor another 250-300k. Overall the truck had something like 830k miles on it when he finally sold it. He was constantly keeping it up tho.
congrats on maintaining it good for all those miles.
but seriously, i would never go past 100~120k miles on any of my cars.
i'd get so tired of it, i need something new every 3-4 years.
i'm so sick of my 06x. Drove it for 45k miles in 4 years, thats 30 miles daily 6 days a week commuting in metro NY.
shopping around for a german this time.

After owning a 4 door sedan almost continuously for over 20 years, looking for a different form factor. Since college, I haven't shown great brand loyalty either. Chevy. Chevy (that was really a rebadged Toyota). Ford. Infiniti. Next leaning American built German.

to be honest it's weird...
sometimes some oils disappear, other times they dont....

but no burning of oil truly the weirdest of things with these vq's
So far i am up to 304,787 miles not kilometers

I hear ya there. I put 140K on mine in 5 years. I spend so much time in it that I'm bored with the car, but it's running so well I just can't get rid of it.
I'm wanting something different too. 10 1/2 years this month. 105300+ miles. Already sold off my truck of 12 years this year. Wanting to go with something new.

i about to hit 103k miles on my 03 nothing major just did a tune up. only thing it needs now are the a/c and alternator belt. runs smooth still got a long way before hitting 300k miles though.
