non engine codes stored?

I have a quick question. My 2006 G35x had the VDI and slip lights come on the other day. I made an appointment at the dealership to get it repaired. The problem is that now the lights are off. Will the car store the code so they can identify the problem (likely a bad abs sensor, but which one) or am I wasting my time bringing it in?

If you did nothing to clear the codes they'll still be there. If they cleared themselves don't take it in until they show up again...if they ever do!

i don't have a code scanner, but the lights are off now. So does that mean they are cleared? They turned off by them selves. They have turned on and off on 3 separate occasions over several weeks.

One other thing The "brake" light came on, which the owners manual says could mean low brake fluid. I know the brakes are getting close to the warning indicator and I am intending on replacing them as soon as it gets warm enough for me to hold a wrench without needing winter gloves. Is it possible that the low brake fluid could be causing the slip/vdi light and just topping it off until I can flush the fluid and replace the pads would be better?

Thanks

monday morning bump.

If a warning light (not related to the engine) is no longer on, is that code stored somewhere?

i found the "frequent tips" section of this site and it indicated that the symptoms I have are likely a cause of low brake fluid. I know that the brake pads on my car are close to the ware indicators and that combined with the cold weather (sub zero) is likely causing my issue. I will top off the fluid and give it a shot.

VDC and slip lights do not store codes. If a code was stored, the CHECK ENGINE light would illuminate.

If a condition causes the CEL to come on, and then turn off, my personal experience has found the code still remains.

IF only the VDC and SLIp came on, there may not be a code.
