Should I sell my 05 G35x for a 2010 G37xS?
So I have an 05 G35x with 57,000 miles in great condition and am considering selling and picking up a 2010 year or higher G37x sport. I have been seeing some really great deals out there in the range of $23K for 25K mileage.
However, I completely love my car and have had absolutely no issues with it in the last 5 years of ownership... Not sure if it is worth the risk... I know some of the newer models have oil consumption issues.
Thoughts, opionions?? Just creating a thread for the sake of conversation.. Is the newer interior/body worth it?
My upgrades:
M45 Sport Rims
Megan Coils
Pulled rear fenders
20mm Spacers
Rear SPC Camber arms
Ionic front Lip
Rear splash gaurds
After market head unit with GPS and OEM double dinn
Magnaflow exhaust
No - engine mods

i would keep it. I have never driven the g37 sport model but have driven the regular g37x plenty of times and find it to be "softer" than the 05-06 models. It is decidely faster, but it doesn't have the same tight feel that our cars have. Combined that with your suspension upgrades and (likely low profile tires) it would probably feel down right "squishy" to you.
The other problem is that with the Q50 being out now, the G37 is consider the previous gen (hence the lower prices) so our first gen models are going to take a bath on trade-in, and dealerships won't give you hardly anything for the work you have put into yours.

based on your miles, we would all assume you dont drive your car much at all.
off that alone i would keep it. i got 90k on mines and the thought has come up for me as well. Money wasn't an issue. But for me i think it would be a waste of money. Now if you had 150k and things going wrong with the car, i would say get the 2010

Aware the mods will not help my sale in any way, I was offered $11k from a dealer not too long ago but of course he was trying to get me in a car. Ideally I wouldn't want to sell for less than $13.5k if possible.
The reason I was considering is because I would imagine it's difficult to find buyers who will pay over $10k into a 10 year old car.. But money on a new car is not an issue...
Turtle, your right I definitely don't drive much. I think I'm keeping it I still love to drive the G and I'm going with the if it ain't broke don't fix it.. I would hate to pick up a new G and be disappointed so another 50k Miles it is..

Although I'm sure I would end up modding the suspension on a new G as well..
