Hi, just bought an 04 g35 coupe with 130,000 for $5,000. Looking forward to tuning this car, I've followed some of the big builds already..Thank you to everyone who posts.
I've worked on plenty of cars although I'm by no means a professional, just an enthusiast who has learned from some past projects.
To give you some background this car is not in the best condition, looks like it has been in an accident previously. Its been repaired poorly and is idling a bit high. Although the G is quick I didn't feel like the power was consistent so i figured I was in need of a tune-up.
I spent the day doing basic maintenance; oil, sparks, belts, & cleaned the air filter. I cleaned out the throttle body as well. Overall I'm already falling for the G, it was fun to work on with intuitively located everything and lots of hand space. I'm running 5w-30 mobil 1 synthetic and double platinum NGK sparks. Found some oil in the #1 cylinder but everything else looked good..
Is this ok? Am i going to need any major repairs soon?
The previous owner had a new clutch installed, but its sticking at the top... is this normal/ how do i fix it.. I did a search and found that it could possibly be the fluids.. However, I didn't know if this is the only cause or maybe the clutch was installed improperly?
My G has a CAI, TB spacer .. its also lowered however I'm not sure if it was done correctly ...
p.s. that shroud under the front bumper sucks, way too many bolts...

Looks like you have some good, tasteful plans for the G. Don't expect a lot of power gains on her though unless you plan on going FI. I've spent a few thousand dollars on the motor/intake/exhaust and have only added about 40HP/TQ. You might look into an aluminum undersheild from Tollboothwilley who's a member/vendor here. His has an aluminum door that only needs to have 2 bolts removed to access the oil drain and filter. Makes life a lot easier in the maintenance department.

RE sparks:
So now that I have already changed the sparks, like an idiot i read over some threads and realized i shouldn't have used anti seize... should i be worried? , im getting a s"service engine soon" and CEL sometimes, after driving under rough conditions but at the moment both lights are off. . . However yesterday after a couple laps autocrossing both lights came back on and then one at a time turned off again..
