Black exterior/Willow interior cleaning tips

What type of wax do you recommend on black paint? Currently I use Zymonal and it does a great job on my red Miata. I've never owned a black car and want to avoid getting swirl marks. Also, is the willow interior difficult to keep clean?

One last question, do the 5 spoke wheels come with wider tires?

There may be other threads on this-but I picked the first 2 I saw.

The best thing you can do as far as the interior is to not eat inside or drink dark(colored) liquids. Use leather conditioner often. Use carpet cleaner on mats. Exterior--hand wash and hand wax.

I am sure this thread will be moved to detailing soon.

i don't think the mods/admins are awake yet to catch this thread. they'll get it soon enough.

as texan1 said, the detailing section has tons of threads (in really nice detail) about how to take care of a black G. as for swirl marks, when you wash, dry, or apply wax, just don't use circular motions or else you are sure to get the swirlies and spider webs. willow is not difficult to keep clean. just invest in the right maintenance products.

as for the 5-spokes, for the older models 2003/2003.5/maybe 2004, the 5-spoke meant that you have the sport suspension. 6-spoke means you don't. i'm not sure what it means for the newer ones though.

LOL, think that woke them up? The '04 still had the 5 spoke wheels for the Sport Suspension too, and a lot of them had the trunk spoiler too. You are right, any light color interior isn't hard to keep clean at all, IMO the Graphite shows more dirt, dust shows up right away, I had a Ford F150 Lariat with the light gray leather, and it wasn't tough to keep clean at all, you do have to be careful with dark blue clothing, or reds though!

I learned that the hard way, I had a car with a white (parchment) interior, and the seat had a blue stain from jeans, I think it rubs off as you slide in or out, not just from sitting.
