Can A G35 Sedan Handle As Well As A Coupe???
As the title asks, can a G35 Sedan handle as well as a G35 Coupe??? If not, why not?? If so, what will it require?? Reason for asking, I am wanting to turn my 2003 G35 Sedan 6spd into an AutoX car or drag car..... Just wondering if it is worth doing, or if the Coupe is that much better of a car... Thanks!

No, it doesn't handle as well. And neither the g35 coupe or sedan make competitive track cars.

1) engine: the sedan doesn't have the uprev
2) track width: the g35 coupe has a wider track width than the sedan, which helps with weight transfer while cornering.
3) Height: the extra height is also bad for weight transfer while cornering, by raising the cg
4) length: the coupe and sedan have the same wheelbase, but the sedan is longer. All that extra length behind the rear wheel is no good for yaw; it increases the moment of inertia
5) the coupe chassis is considerably stiffer, even if it is heavier

Ok, thanks for the input. I have seen a few coupes that handle quite well, with supporting suspension mods, of course.... I think I will give it a try and see what I can make of the sedan.

the rest can be fixed with modification, but this is the main issue. they still make some damn fun grocery getters though.
AWD is a little unneccessary with autoX. Just extra weight at that point. I've driven RWD around plenty of autoX tracks and very rarely is traction an issue. If you are in control and have good tires, there is no reason to lose traction frequently enough to need AWD

You need to decide what you want. Drag and Auto-x are very different things.
