Hey all, 04 sedan and on hot days after the car has been sitting when I turn the inginiton on the radio which was already on when the cars was turned off shows the station and everything but no sound then after a minute or two the speakers pop loudly and the sound comes back on. It also just drops out sometimes after about 20 secs if you park the car and turn the ignition to the accessory position.

Any ideas what I should look for when i tear the dash apart??
thanx

Does it have Bose? The amp might be bad.

Uhh, just stock so I don't think so but there would have to be some kind of amp/transformer for any system right?

My 03 sedan has the exact same problem. No bose either. For me, i've been able to tap around the radio, sometimes on the front, sometime up top near the clock, and it'll come back on temporarily. Eventually it comes back on after lots of popping. Did you ever figure out what the problem was? Luckily, now that it's cooling off, it doesn't do it as much, but still annoying.

On a side note, my CD player function stopped working last spring… maybe the two are related?

i have something near that problem with my stock bose radio. when my car has been sitting for a while, i will turn my car on and the radio will play for about 10 sec then suddenly cut out for 10 sec then come back on. i assumed it was the radio. i was gonna change it out once it goes out completely.

The stock radios have intermittent issues with cd readers breaking and screen issues. You can get a refurb for 100+ shipping.

Time to replace it with an after market radio!
