Question Need body shop

My sedan was parked nose out in a Kroger parking lot and some clod backed into it, probably while leaving. I now have a golf ball sized dent on the front edge of the hood. Dent wizards can not help this time because the paint is cracked in three places. Of course there was no note under my wiper blade. I really am not surprised.
Has anyone had experiences with body shops in the Gainesville, Georgia area? It's no problem heading down towards Atlanta or anywhere else (within reason) to get it fixed. I would appreciate suggestions on shops that should be visited and especially those to be avoided.
Thanks

Something similar happened with my front bumper, I had to replace it. I did the obvious and you should too. Call up the Infiniti dealer and ask which body shop they use. I called Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes, and BMW. Merc and BMW had their own, Inifinit and Lexus used specific body shops. I visited them both and left my car in the most professional looking one. Call Infiniti up and ask.

Give Magnum Collision Repair Center a try:

Magnum Collision Repair Center
1445 Field Park Circle, Marietta, GA 30066
(770) 427-4590

They are located just South of Barrett Parkway on Highway 41(Cobb Parkway) in Marietta. My sister had her 240SX repaired there and they did a fantastic job. The job they did are her car made me regret where I took an older Honda Prelude of mine when somebody tapped me in a parking lot.

If you are going through your insurance company, I would have the Infiniti Dealership do it.

PM me if you have any questions, but if something happened to my G, I would definitely take it there.

Good Luck!

Check with Daryl Wolske 678-812-8500 at Infiniti of Gwinnett. I just got my 05 G35s from them and i used to take my FX45 to them. Great service dept and he is their best service advisor. He should give you the bodyshop they use or recommend a good one.

Body Shop

I called Daryl. They do not do their own body work. A shop was recommended but the most important comment was to use a shop in my area. I took this as a mediocre "maybe ". I did contact a local shop they tell me that since the hood is aluminum, it will require more work but it's doable.
Thanks

good luck on the hood. Aluminum cannot be molded. If you hammer it, it will get thin and expand. From what I know, aluminum cannot be fixed, you might have to get a new hood.

This might get interesting. The body shop that's gonna do the job says "No Problem" with the aluminum. One shop did want to replace the hood. They said there was no way to remove/repair it. The cost to repair the damage will be $474. Naturally my deductible is $500. With hood replacement, the charge would be $988. I'm not having them do it because they wanted to repaint the entire front end of the car. I think that's overkill. What a shame to have to go thru all of this for just a golf ball size dent. Of course I should not complain. The damage might have been a lot worse.

a dent is a dent. Wherevere it is, that whole section needs to be taken off and repainted. If the bumper got hit, yes they have to repaint the whole bumper. You cant just paint one section, it would overlap... it would paint over the clearcoat of the orignal paint. Its your car, I had a dent in my bumpre that same size. I replaced the whole bumper and had them paint and all. I spent 700$ on a small dent on my bumpre.
