Hi, I am interested in buying a G35 sedan. Unfortunately, my local dealer is not very well informed regarding the vehicles technical specifications. Does anyone know if the 5 speed automatic or 6-speed manual comes with a limited slip differential? Additionally, can the 6-speeds 3.54 rear gears be dealer installed instead of the autos 3.36? Finally, what are the major differences between the G35 coupe’s 280HP and the G35 sedans 260 HP. Sorry for all the questions, but it’s either this car or a Mitsubishi EVO? Thanks!

Between this car and the EVO, the choice comes down to a luxury-sport or a compact-rocket.

No, the sedan does not come with an LSD. The coupe has an optional LSD that's part of some package, and I hear that you can swap that one into a sedan if you want, not sure of the cost involved. Don't know about the gearing, but I doubt it would be hard to do -- though whether or not you can get a dealership to do it is another matter.

The coupe's extra power comes from a polished intake, dual exhaust, and more aggressive timing in the ECU, which as a result makes it require (as opposed to simply recommend) premium fuel (91).

The rearends are supposedly swapable but I have found one yet to try it with. I have been looking at wrecking yard but on Posi equipped rearends.

I'd stick with 91 in the sedan too. The general consensus seems to be that the lower octane rating will reduce power, and since the computer has to retard timing to prevent knock, you'll also lose fuel economy by a percentage roughly equal to the money you're supposedly saving at the pump.
