B Pillar Rust 2005 G35 Sedan (still in warranty?)

I know this is a common issue with these cars, when I purchased my used sedan a couple of years ago it was barely noticeable. It has become more noticeable this winter (I live in the rust belt, oh well) so I did some research.

Now Infiniti's website states 7yr/unlimited mileage for rust but I have read a few threads and posts about people receiving a letter from Infiniti in regards to extending that to 10yrs for 2003-2005 models. The letter they received came with a sticker they were supposed to adhere to the front of their warranty booklets to remind them of the extension.

Since I bought this car used I wouldn't have gotten that letter and it didn't come with the car's documentation. Do you think the dealer would honor that extension if I don't have that letter? Has anyone else with an 05 tried to contact the dealer recently to see if the work is covered under warranty? I just want to know if I'm SOL on warranty work for this issue.

Any input/help is appreciated on the matter.

Thanks.

i just got mines done like 3 weeks ago.

Barely made the cut, i think they go by the IN SERVICE DATE of the car.

I have an 05 as well. Good luck, the dealership didn't give me too much issues with it. I never took it there for service either. They had no reason to play ball with me if it was outside of warranty since i was not a loyal customer.

Good Luck, if they decline you, go to the other dealerships.

Yes, it goes by the in service date. I had mine done-4 new doors painted with fenders and rear quarters blended. Basically, if your car was driven off the lot less than 10 years ago, your covered. Take it to the dealer NOW.

The warranty for my 05 expires on June 30, 2015. I scheduled an appointment for March at my local delearship. They did say I had to do an oil change at their location.

Call them and they will tell you if it's still valid on your car.

Why would you have to do an oil change with them? This is an Infiniti warranty and as such should be honoured @ any Infiniti dealership without having to spend money there.

I forgot to mention that it's a free oil change. They said I needed to have a service record at their dealership in order to book an appointment. This is the one in Ajax.

So they're only replacing the 2 doors on the driver side. No loaner car for the 3 weeks it will take the body shop to do the work. Fyi Ajax location.

Is it rust only on the b-pillars or also rust under the weather stripping inside? Dealer is saying only rust on exterior b-pillars.

And is the warranty still valid until expiry (6/30) after they replace the 2 doors?

Hopefully better luck at other locations.

Thanks in advance.

DON'T WAIT! DO IT NOW.

I slept on this and found out that my 04 was on the road a bit earlier than I thought and I missed the cut off by a few months.

I know it's not that close to you, but Newmarket Infiniti peeled back the weather striping so they could see if there was any sign of rust on the inside. Found minute signs of rust and I got all 4 doors. Offered me a loaner and took 5 days in the shop. 3 weeks is unacceptable IMO.
Newmarket Infiniti might be worth a shot. The warranty manager's name was Frank. Don't know if he's still there, but likely is.

Got this taken care of last year at the Ajax Infiniti. They replaced the rusted doors and painted the entire sides of the car. I got a QX50 as a loaner. They did a great job.

Endras Infiniti? I've ordered several parts from them online for my G and our M. The only online infiniti parts source in Canada that I'm aware of. Shipping is quite reasonable.
