my drivers side rear door will not open from the inside, the child lock is NOT on, door WILL open from the outside

could anyone suggest what the problem may be?

 

Does the inside handle have the same feel when you pull it as the door that works on the opposite side?

Possible the cable connected to the handle fell off, or broke. You will need to remove the door panel (very easy) and scout it out.
