Short Shifter question for my 05 6MT

hey guys. I'm pretty new around here. I just purchased my 6MT last month and I'm looking to get a short shifter installed. My question to you all is is there a difference between a generic short shifter that costs $75 and a brand name one that costs $150-$200? Any advise would be great. Thanks.

Don't bother wasting your money. The stock shifter is nice as it is IMO.

They really don't get much shorter than the stock shifter, Benny.

Check the technical/mod section of this site, and you'll see that many have tried to install an aftermarket short shifter, and most have encountered only problems and headaches, with no real improvement in shifting (I personally have found that the greatest improvement to shifting was to have the crappy original transmission in my '04 replaced with the newly redesigned '05 version, which I had done last week).

My $0.02
