05 6MT Best Buy under $30k-Challengers??
Just gave the confirmation to go ahead and close the deal on my new 05 G35 6MT in Lakeshore Slate/Stone with only the base package. They will add the XM radio at the dealer.
I am pretty excited about this. I have been researching cars for about 6 months and it finally came down to the G 6Mt providing the most bang for the buck. Almost got the TL but I read too many problems about the vibration issues and the transmission problems. I just felt that for under $30k I got the best deal in America. 300hp, 6 speed, leather, heated seats, power seats, long list of safety features, the list goes on. I am really comfortable with this decision.
I think I just bought the best performing, safest, best sized, most reliable vehicle with the best warranty, I can find for under $30k. I mean in actual street dollars not MSRP.
Anybody think they can pose a better challenger?

I believe the sport package is standard on the '05 6MT sedan. That means it comes with the Sport Tuned suspension, Limited Slip, and the 5 spoke , 18 inch alloys. At least that is what the 2005 G35 brochure says and I have seen pics of my car and it has the 5 spokes on it and I didn't pay for any options.

There's only really one car I can think of that comes close in terms of bang for you buck. And that would be the Legacy GT. You can get a fully loaded one for under $30k. The interior and fit and finish is pretty good and steps above a WRX. The performance speaks for itself with the 2.5 Turbocharged STI motor. If I never got my G Sedan I would have seriously thought about getting this car. Overall though I think people will be hard pressed to find a better overall car for under $30k than a G35.

If you can stay away from the options and keep this car right at, or below $30K, it's a tough car to beat. The usual suspects for $1-3K less than this car are the TSX, Saab 9-3, Legacy GT, and Mazda 6. Of course, the Evo and WRX STi have the horsepower/dollar equation, but different markets.
My best friend just sold his 04 G35 for a brand new S4 with a six speed. Of course he loves the V8 with Quattro, but he said that driving the Audi has shown him how fast his G really was ... for $20K less
All great cars ... I loved having all of these options to choose from
